Since we were able to organize another beautiful marriage proposal some days ago, I thought it would be a great idea to write a little more about what usually comes “BEFORE” you get married.

First of all, offering proposals all around the Dominican Republic is not as easy as doing weddings. Budgets to pop the question are usually slightly smaller than for a complete wedding, so traveling around to do it personally is not the most convenient idea. Therefore we usually do proposals personally in and around Puerto Plata, and have some awesome and hardworking partners ready for you on the rest of the island. The planning process

I would definitely describe the planning of your proposal as exciting and thrilling! Being on this secrets mission together with you, makes us feel almost a little bit like James Bond 007. 😀

Some of our clients already have a specific idea on what they want to plan, others need some inspiration. Therefore we have some proposal packages ready to get you in the mood. These packages of course are just some ideas, that we can amend to the proposal offer of your dreams. So let’s get a bit into our expert knowledge.

How to do it

So after one of the couple books a proposal with us, there is one question: How do I get my (future) fiance(e) to the proposal location? Most desired set up location: the beach – makes sense as we’re in the Caribbean! An idea would be: “Babe, I booked a photo shoot for us”. This makes sure, your future fiance(e) will give it all, to get dressed and styled accordingly.

Another great option, and that’s what we did with Denzel and Gina, is to involve one of your loved ones. In this case it was the mother of the future bride. She blindfolded them both and took them to a surprise dinner at the beach. Gina – of course – did not know that Denzel actually removed his blindfold after her mom made sure he was safe to go…mission completed!

A simple but very great option is to include the receptionist or villa owner, depending where you will be staying. We did so with Silvan and Melanie – as soon as they arrived at their hotel, the receptionist handed them over an envelope “Congratulations, you’re our guest number 5’000’000. Therefore we would like to invite you on a helicopter ride along the beach to a secluded beach area with a snorkeling stop.” Little did Melanie know what was expecting her there. 😀

They had already been together for 7 years at the time. So we built a small walkway with pictures of every year of their relationship, chronologically ordered, from the helicopter landing area to a heart made of rose petals. Silvan proposed, Melanie said yes and afterwards they enjoyed a small picnic and a bottle of sparkling wine, before heading back to their hotel. Today the two of them are happily married!

No worries, I’m not revealing all our secrets. 🙂 Nope! Just giving you some ideas and insights. But there are sooo many possibilities, I’m sure we will find the best option for you!

There are no limits for such beautiful occasions. Whether sunrise, sunset or in the middle of the night – everything is possible. The Dominican Republic has it all – remember?

Our must have

What we consider a real must have: book a professional photographer and (if possible) a videographer for your proposal. There will be so many beautiful and surprising moments that simply have to be captured. This is a once in a lifetime moment – a great memory to remember. And I am sure your family and friends at home would love to be part of it.
